I can’t believe how quickly the week has gone, it’s Thursday already! This time things will be a little different….

I am pretty aware that not only do we have brilliant poets on WordPress but we also have fantastic story writers! We want to really test your imagination this time and the topic for today’s comp is……

Fantasy!!!

Whether you’ll take us to a fairy village, a mushroom house or an evil lair or a dark dungeon, we want to read your piece of work! We want a descriptive, fantasy filled poem or short story. The competition ends on Tuesday 31st March at 12a.m so make sure you enter before then. The results will be revealed on Wednesday 1st of April.

How do I submit my work?

Submitting your entry is pretty easy, you can choose between these two options which one suits you best:

  1. Type your poem in the comment section below. Add your name and click send.
  2. Write the poem on your own blog or website then publish it and send us the link for it in the comment section below👇. Add your name and click send.

Part of submitting is following Penable, you have to follow Penable and tell at least two people about this comp to enter!

    It’s dark here, it’s claustrophobic. I can’t really see what I’m writing, but I hope this letter reaches you well. Remember the fireworks, the piles of gold, the neverending summers spent together flying up to the stars? Well, it’s all over now, but it doesn’t have to be this way. If you want to be with me, I can make your wish come true. Yes, I know I’m an acquired taste, with my sense of grandeur, my theatrics. You used to marvel at my tricks, until it was too much. “Enough with the fantasy!”, you said.You got what you wanted, I had no say. Did you ever so slightly think of me? Forced into quarantine when all I ever asked for was to be loved durably… Come on, you very well know that only you can rub me the right way. I’ve had plenty of women before you trying to put me into submission. With you, it was different. You let me be myself and it drove us apart. Now I’m all alone, sealed away, dreaming of endless magic. I know I can treat you better than you’ve ever wished for. For fucks’ sake, just come and set me free so that I can be with you.

  22. There she was
    appearing again
    standing in the half-light
    the moon in her hand.
    Honeysuckle wafting
    intense white
    in the night.
    Dreams speak of dragons
    one most honorable knight
    diffusing dense magic
    in the sultry moonlight.
    A goddess of mystery,
    a Centaur’s daughter
    a Giver of Forgiveness,
    a Crafter of Disorder.
    Intoxicating thoughts,
    a cosmic creation,
    reality borders blurred
    mind topples
    from concentration.
    From supernatural,
    she comes
    as myths she creates
    feigned innocence at once
    in tempting the Fates.
    Reaching towards infinity
    grasping thin air
    like a dove in flight
    a mermaid so fair.
    And on distant dreams
    such fairy children go
    showering imagination
    melting memories in tow.

    Hi Midnightlion, this is an older poem of mine, my teaching schedule is so crazy that I’m not quite able to write at the moment, and I don’t write a lot of fantasy, but thought I would send this one to you as you were so kind to invite me. Take care, and happy fantasy hunting!
