‘Never measure your progress with someone else’s ruler.’

Mary Kistner

Okay, this is one of my favourite quotes! Be yourself. Don’t measure your progress with someone else’s ruler. Okay, you can be like people, you can follow them, their lifestyle – but never, and I mean never, think that you’re not good enough or you’ll never get it done. If you stop comparing yourself with others, then you’ll get it done. If you think that you’re never good enough, then you’ll keep tearing out your work, then writing again, then comparing, then ripping out your work again! Whenever you are writing, don’t try to be a Shakespeare or a JK Rowling, I’m sure that they didn’t think that they were never good enough. JK Rowling wrote first on a napkin. If she didn’t believe in herself, if she didn’t be herself and be determined, she wouldn’t have been famous. Everyone has their own ways of doing something. Just because they turned out successful – you don’t have to make yourself uncomfortable by trying to reach their rank.

If you believe in yourself.

If you be yourself.

Then you can do it.
