Apologies for not posting in a while, I’ve been busy with the Penable Magazine 2020, and now I’m bringing you amazing guys a… book review!
This book is called the Island at the end of everything by Kiran Millwood Hargrave.
Ami lives on Culion, an island for people who have leprosy. Her mother is among the infected. She loves her home – with its blue seas and lush forests, Culion contains all she knows and loves. But the arrival of malicious government official Mr Zamora changes her world forever: islanders untouched by sickness are forced to leave. Banished across the sea, she’s desperate to return before her mother’s death. She finds a strange and fragile hope in a colony of butterflies. Can they lead her home before it’s too late?
MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK:
I’ve read a lot of books by this author, Kiran Millwood Hargrave and every time it leaves me impressed. It takes me on a wild and fun ride through deserts, mountains, forests and other amazing places in her vast imagination.
I found the island at the end of everything an intriguing adventure, following a young girl, and I admire her courage and bravery in this story. I’m not going to spoil it, but this is a definite, thrilling page turner for adults and children alike. It’s brilliantly written, creative, emotional – yes, emotional, and there is no doubt that this Author is a great one.
I absolutely loved this, I think I’m going to go read again for the third time! 😄
I rate this book: 5 / 5
