And the… Winner is….

Jamal E Fatima!

Congratulations ๐ŸŽŠ Here I the amazing piece that she has written:

Confession

You may revel in

the sun-kissing peaks

and the lush rolling hills

of my words.

But itโ€™s the deep dark valleys

and the flat plain plateaues of poetry,

where I find myself.

  1. Bittersweet Anthems
    by Joe Inabinette

The words came slow and buttery…

    Like the taste of fresh candy corn in early Autumn;

    Dissolving and flavoring the soul

and filling it with the memories

of the days where the leaves piled up just asking for someone to leap….

and then exploded into the heart in a rain of dried, candied wafers.

  3. Hii .. loved the topic .. hereโ€™s my entry :

What is it about chocolate that makes it such an incredible food ?
    Melted , even better ,
It just instantaneously changes my mood .
So letโ€™s mix it in for some brownies and hope for it to turn really freaking good .

Donโ€™t add too much flour or it will be dense ,
Measure all your ingredients or itโ€™ll be a big mess ,
Eggs without vanilla extract will make the cake smell ,
But itโ€™ll taste like alcohol by tossing too much of it in .

It coming out of the oven gave a really delectable smell ,
Cutting it through with a knife was the most sensual Iโ€™ve ever felt .
The knife came up unclean ,
Mom said it was โ€˜fudge โ€˜ , but I was afraid they werenโ€™t fully baked .

It all depends on how it tastes ,
I braced myself with my hopes not too high ,
And you know what they werenโ€™t the worst ,
A little more chocolate would have given me more than just the compliment โ€˜Itโ€™s Fine โ€˜ .

  4. Here is mine then:

    Sweet or Spice?

On one side is the gulab jamun,
Like the big red evening sun,
    As sweet as the secnt
    Of rain to a pluviophile,
    As warm as the hug
From my friend after the lockdown.

And on the other side sits the aloo chaat,
    Whose spiciness is as sharp
    As the taste of teeth
    Against mouth ulcer,
    Painful,
    Yet relieving.

    And of the two mouth-waterers,
    Help me pals,
    For I dare not choose
    Which one to eat first!?

Ps: Gulab Jamun and Aloo Chaat are both super popular Indian foods ๐Ÿ˜‰.
