‘Never measure your progress with someone else’s ruler.’

Mary Kistner

This is one of my favourite quotes!

Be yourself.

I’m not telling you can’t copy other people’s ways, or styles of writing or anything. But never think that you’re not good enough or you’ll never get anything done.

If you think that you’re never good enough, then you’ll keep tearing out your work, then writing again, then comparing, then ripping out your work again!

And you’ll seriously not get anywhere.

It’s okay to have a dream or goal to become a bestselling author. But don’t look at a different person who is a bestselling author and compare yourself with their progress. How did they get this far? Maybe I should give up on writing. My writing is nothing like theirs.

Everyone has their own ways of doing something. Just because they turned out successful – you don’t have to make yourself uncomfortable by trying to reach their rank.

If you believe in yourself.

If you be yourself.

Then you can do it.

Stay safe,
