Thank you to everyone else who registered, I loved reading your incredible pieces!
Kimaya is a great writer and the author of the blog, Kimayasmagic.
Here is the stunning piece she sent in:
If the sky were made of glass
The azure would be so vivid,
A sharper, refined hue of livid,
A clear day would have a whole different meaning,
A sunrise would be blazingly gleaming,
Every day we would sight a rainbow,
As the sun refracts through the glass’s prism aglow,
Dispersing into a spectrum of tinted rays,
Through the flushed glass as a colored haze,
Rain would pelt down and shatter the sky,
Shards of glass would plummet south from up high,
Snow and hail would render the same,
A torrid summer would melt the sky to a flame,
Liquid glass gushing towards the ground as it came,
At night, the stars would glister through,
Distorted to discs of incandescing orbs amidst the blue,
Specks of canary yellow in the layers above,
Transparently dancing down into the world thereof,
The seasons would be ever so frail,
The fragility the sky shall unveil,
Tranquil weather in liquored crystals,
Lightning strikes upon us, piercing as vitric pistols,
Delicate, but lethal if underestimated,
Like an enormous window,
Sheathing the world below,
Glistening in the light of the sun,
Kittenish kids draw nature with a glass-sanded sky for fun,
Evincing the northern lights everywhere,
The pellucid abyss and the wonders it must share,
I look up to see phenomena and mystery in this glimmering clear mass,
If only the sky was made of glass.
Congratulations Kimaya! Your piece was beautifully penned and you’re an amazing, sparkling writer. I love reading your work!
