Interview with Special Author, Miriam Yvette!

Hiya everyone, it’s Phoenix here and today we have a special guest and author on Penable, Miriam Yvette, who has kindly agreed to do an interview with us!

Welcome to Penable, Miriam Yvette!

Author of The Birth

Interview

How many books have you published?

I have officially published three books, The Birth Volume 1, Lola, and The Conflict Volume2, however; the last one is momentarily off the market.

What advice do you have for any aspiring authors out there?

Take everything you do as a learning experience. You can do every single thing by the book and still have something new to learn. So my advice is don’t let the bumps slow you down, and don’t let anyone discourage you from writing.

Where do you get inspiration for your books from?

I go to nature and learn what I can about Corvids and birds. This is mainly because I have been working on Black Wings for many years, and the main themes revolve around crows and a girl who can talk to them.

What do you enjoy most about writing?

My messy first draft. I often tell people to be careful not to keep their stories in their heads because time will make altercations, or you run the risk of forgetting key parts. But when you write your first messy draft or outline, you have more headspace to think of new ideas.

What is your favourite quote?

“Relinquish your pain, unto me.” – Mary Magdalene from the Xenosaga games.

When did your realise that you wanted to become an author?

It happened after I took a break from writing. I thought to myself, “It’s time to stop and join the ‘real’ world,” but in reality, I felt like I lost a part of myself. Writing is my real world. I have been writing stories since I was in sixth grade. When I met this wonderful guy who believed in me, I decided, why not?

What motivates you?

Drawing initially got me into writing, so they both work hand in hand in continuing my writing process.

What is your favourite genre to write in?

Well at the moment, I am happily in the Dark Fantasy and Romance genre.

Thank you for having me!
